Masculine Words Can End with -a Too!
In Lesson 1 we learned that most feminine nouns end in -a. There are some exceptions to this rule. The following masculine nouns also end in -a:

-a Ending

el idioma (language)

el clima (climate)

-a Ending

el fantasma (ghost)

el síntoma (symptom)

-a Ending

el sofá (sofa)

ela (day)

Feminine Noun Ending Exceptions
We also learned that most masculine nouns end in -o. But you guessed it - there are exceptions! The following feminine nouns also end in -o:

Feminine Noun with -o Ending

la mano (hand)

Feminine Noun with -o Ending

la radio (radio)
