Adverbs of place are also known as adverbs of location. They express where the verb action is carried out.

ahí - there (nearby)
allí - there (medium distance)
allá - there (far away)
cerca - near
lejos - far
atrás - behind
adelante - forward
debajo - under
delante - in front
abajo - down, downstairs
arriba - up, upstairs
afuera - out, outside
detrás - behind
enfrente - in front
alrededor - around
junto - next to

Examples:
Desde arriba se ve la ciudad.
The city can be seen from up above.

El museo está cerca de aquí.
The museum is close by.
