I really enjoyed the shopping, quaint neighborhoods and the many historical sites.

We had an exceptional host family. Everything was just perfect! They made us feel part of the family.

The school is amazingly friendly and excellent location. It has wifi, the host families are very nice and warm, the spanish classes aremixed with culture and conversation, it is a 5 hour everyday course not 3. it is great to have 30 minutes break from 12 to 12:30 for lunch , meet other students and arrange things in case of traveling and stuff. It also includes one field trip every week with the fee you pay. What I liked the most about this school besides what I mentioned above is that they always give more of what is advertised and that makes you feel much better at the end, it truly feels that your money was worth it, for the extra things they share and give, I highly recommend this school. I studied at this school for two weeks in late January of 2014 and would recommend it to others. My teacher was very professional and patient. Fer, the school administrator was very flexible and accommodating. The classes were small with classrooms set around a lovely courtyard. The overall school environment was very friendly and it was a very comfortable place to learn. My ability to hear, understand and speak Spanish improved substantially. My host family was wonderful and like many of the CIS host families they had a long-term relationship with the school. Most of the students were older adults from the U.S. and Canada. Merida is a safe and vibrant city and the centro is within walking distance of CIS.

Je viens de terminer une immersion de 2 semaine a Merida au Cis. Petite école très bien équipée en salles de classes, salles de bain, terrace, d,une propreté remarquable. Le nombre d,étudiants par salle est peu élevé (3 ou 4) et respecte le niveau d,apprentissage. La première semaine j,ai profité d,un cours privé (sans frais supplementaires) , la deuxième semaine, nous étions 3 dans notre cours (avancé). J,ai pris 5 heures de classe par jour. On change de prof. en après midi. J!ai aimé la formule de changement de prof. , ça diversifie les conversations. Le directeur Fernando est d,une grande courtoisie et s,assure de notre satisfaction en regard des services offerts et reçus. C,était ma 4me immersion de 2 semaines et certainement la meilleure, la plus profitable. J,ai fait un progrès énorme. Je restais dans une famille, tout près de l,école. On me préparait un lunch a apporter le midi. J,aurais pû choisir de manger à la maison plus tard. Ils sont tres accomodant. Le logement était 12 minutes a pied de l,école, 10 minutes d,un magnifique parc, 30 minutes du centre ville. Merida est très sécuritaire. Je voyage seule. C,est la première fois que je me sentais en sécurité pour sortir seule le soir. Je pense retourner au Mexique, et aller a une "escuela hermana " de CIS.
